Living in a one-bedroom apartment, Corey Stevens set up a four-track studio in a closet and began to sharpen his craft. He wrote "Blue Drops of Rain" and "Lessons of Love" and started gaining interest from record companies while juggling a teaching career. His first album, Blue Drops of Rain, would become a classic. In the next ten years, he became engulfed in his newfound love and created nine albums to include:
Blue Drops of Rain (1995) Road To Zen (1997) Mean And Lean (1999) Road To Zen: Live DVD (2002) Bring On The Blues (2003) |
Alone At Last (2005) Albertville (2007) Myth Live (2008) The Dreaming Man (2010) |
In 2006, Corey pondered the idea to make an album of Albert King covers. It became reality thanks to a new record deal with Ruf Records resulting in his next record, Albertville.
Minneapolis-St. Paul based airline, Sun Country, approached Stevens in 2008 to use his music on in-flight programming and a limited edition CD featuring Twin Cities bands. Stevens, who lives in Los Angeles while his band resides in St. Paul, MN gave them his live recording, Myth Live to play on flights and appeared in concert at selective Sun Country events.
To sum up Stevens, he moves forward primarily by self-motivation. He does what he does because he has something to say and doesn't question why - just how and when. You can read his book about his music in All Access Pass. Stevens continues to tour with his band and as a solo acoustic performer. His music is played on XM Radio and some FM stations, and is available on iTunes, CD Baby, and in selected stores.
