Woodstock’s “Canned Heat” ({“Going Up Country”) kicks off their tour at Brewbakers in N. On the tube, live from Atlanta, GA, it’s the NBA All-Star Game, hope you got your vote in for the “G” Man.  Last year’s half-time appearance by Elton John sticks in my mind . . . The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers continues to reign at the theaters.  This epic has also received a “Best Picture” nominee . . . The production line of the new Rolls Royce Phantom was unveiled in January in Goodwood, England for you luxury car buffs, price tag $333,000.  The V-12 engine propels it from 0 to 60 miles per hour in in 5.7 seconds. “I’m going to get me one!” – can’t hurt to dream . . . Sports tix: Game of the month: the Timberwolves play host to Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday the 11th. . . Thursday the 13th, Crosby, Stills, Nash bring sweet harmonies to the Xcel with special guest, the Jayhawks - the Jayhawks have a new release scheduled for early April . . .Kenny G in a “Festival of the Heart and Soul Event,” performs at 8:00pm at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on the 15th.  For the hardcore rockers, RATT lets it rip at the Rock in Maplewood later that same evening.  Meanwhile, across the river in downtown Minneapolis, Supercross is at the Metrodome, also on the 15th - rrrmmmm, bring some earplugs or you’ll be sorry.  With way too many options on the 15th, you may wish to experience the “original” KISS tribute, STRUTTER, at Jersey’s in Inver Grove Heights.  For you cheeseheads or RATT fans, these masked-rockers also are in concert at Dibbo’s in Hudson, WI on the 20th and the Tac in Amery, WI on the 22nd  - roadtrip? . . . Enjoy great ribs with Famous Dave’s AND Reneé Austin, Thursday the 20th in Uptown . . .Yes, the time has finally come, screamin’ fans will ring out with their praise and support that BON JOVI and the Goo Goo Dolls are back in town at the Xcel, Feb. 25th. . . The 45th Annual Grammy Awards Live Sunday, February 23 at Madison Square Garden in NYC on CBS, any predictions? . . . Carrot Top is hilariously too funny with a casino appearance at Mystic Lake in Prior Lake on the 25th, tickets reasonably priced at $22-29, unless of course the one-armed bandit detours your passage way to or from the show . . . Concert ticket alert: Edgar Winter has been booked for a March appearance on the Star Bar’s grand stage on Central Ave. in Columbia Heights . . . Avril Lavigne!!!! at the Xcel April 20th. . .YANNI (and new CD - which features a couple co-written tunes of local sweet “P”, Pamela McNeil) at the Xcel Energy Center, May 30th . . .Web site of the Month: www.armentertainment.com - if you’re interested in local and national talent, download pics of your favorite rock stars and venture into many local links of talented Twin City acts . . .  In case you haven’t checked out the Hard Rock Café in Minneapolis, don’t get your hopes too high.  It is a far cry from its brothers and sisters scattered throughout the universe, but hey, the food is great and the Prince display represents the Twin Cities’ significance and I’m proud of that.  Jonny Lang also was on display - very righteous, even if he is from Fargo.   For the Hard Rock Café of my liking and a more impressive experience, go to Hard Rock Café London, Key West, Orlando or Las Vegas!  FYI, Hard Rock Café International has opened its vault of rock ‘n roll memorabilia to the public in a 17,000 square foot museum in Orlando.  In closing, please forward comments (good only) or features that I may include in upcoming issues to ra@armentertainment.com . . .
